Have a look through our website and consider making a donation to the fund or to sponsor an Egyptian family. The aims of
the Trust are wide and Trust Funds are not bottomless pits. They need
constant replenishing if they are to work and really make a difference. They need your support and
that makes you important in the lives of children that you have never
met but who are dependent on you. Show them that you care and that they
are not forgotten by everyone.
Between June 2007 and November 2009 you have donated more than £140,000 towards the completion of Little Stars' projects. This is approximately 1,200,000 Egyptian Pounds, which has enabled us to start a new clinic at Qurna on the west bank of River Nile, to carry out an extensive food distribution programme and to operate the sponsorship scheme.
Many charities have a high percentage of expenses but Little Stars has a self-imposed ceiling of 15% on expenses and is at present (January 2010) running at less than 10%. This means that more than 90% of your donation is getting exactly where it is needed. There are no high cost European members of staff or expensive offices and apart from vital Egyptian staff, all work is done on a volunteer basis with most volunteers covering their own expenses. As we operate a system of complete discloure, our accounts for the last two years are all on this website with a link on the About Us page.
We now need your help more than ever to ensure the future of the clinic and extend its services, to run the new free Hadana (Nursery School) for disadvantaged and disabled children which is opening next to the clinic, to buy the Toyota Double Cab and Mini-bus that we desperately need to get around the villages to deliver food parcels, and to start the Training Workshops in premises above the clinic. Please have a look at our latest newsletter to see photographs of the progress we have made in all fields. It is your help that made all this possible.
